It all started in the city of ANGELS… Our founders and owners, Alessandro and Stephanie Bonaventura, spend their vacation in 2007 in California and fell in love with the golden state and especially with the vibe of the city of angels - Los Angeles. With their background and operation and management experience in the 5-star hospitality industry they always had the dream to open their own business. While traveling they realized the lack of Gelato stores compared to Italy, Alessandro’s home country. The idea of opening their own Gelato store was born. Alessandro went back to Italy where his family runs Gelato stores. In the Gelato University in Bologna (Italy) he mastered flavors and recipes and received his master degree. Together they build a business plan, cashed their 401K plans and in 2011 decided to move to Los Angeles to start their American dream…

In 2012 Alessandro and Stephanie opened their first Gelato store called “Gelato Lounge” in Marina del Rey followed by the second location in 2014 in Manhattan Beach both in the Los Angeles area. Both stores were a huge success and with their excellent quality, welcoming customers service they build very fast a strong customers base. They have been featured on FOODNETWORK and had appearances in the local press and on social media blogs.

While living the vibe of the city in L.A. they discovered many more creative food trends they were looking to incorporate with their authentic homemade Gelato. This was the moment when they decided to create a new concept reflecting the fresh homemade Gelato with California inspired dessert treats. In August 2016 the Manhattan Beach stores was remodeled and upgraded with the concept...
